Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use renewquote.com.

Last updated: 12 July 2026

These terms apply when you use renewquote.com (RenewQuote, "we", "us"). By using the site or submitting a quote request, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. What RenewQuote is

RenewQuote is a free quote-matching service for UK homeowners. You submit your details once and we may share them with MCS-certified solar installers, or installer partners, covering your area, who then contact you directly with quotes.

To be clear about what we are not:

  • We are not an installer. We do not design, sell, supply or install solar equipment.
  • We are not a party to any contract you enter with an installer. Any quote, survey, contract, warranty or installation is between you and the installer alone.
  • We are not affiliated with MCS, RECC, HIES, Ofgem or any government scheme.

2. The quote-request service

  • The service is free to homeowners and carries no obligation. You do not have to accept any quote you receive.
  • We do our best to match every request with a suitable installer, but we cannot guarantee that an installer will be available for your area, or that you will receive a quote or a specific number of quotes.
  • You confirm that the details you submit are accurate and that you are entitled to request quotes for the property concerned.
  • How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

3. Site content is information, not advice

Guides and cost figures on this site are researched against sources such as gov.uk, Ofgem, MCS and the Energy Saving Trust, and we date the figures we publish. But scheme rules, VAT treatment, export rates and prices change. Content on this site is general information, not financial, legal or technical advice for your specific circumstances. Always check the official source, and the installer's own written quote, before you commit to anything.

4. Installers and quotes

Installers we work with are MCS-certified at the time we engage them, and we ask that they hold membership of a consumer code such as RECC or HIES. We do not, however, supervise their work and we are not responsible for the accuracy of their quotes, the quality of their installations, or their aftercare. Check certifications yourself at mcscertified.com before signing.

5. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, or any contract you enter with an installer. The site is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

6. Intellectual property

The content on this site belongs to RenewQuote. You may not reproduce it commercially without permission. Quoting short extracts with a link back is fine.

7. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
